Café No. 01 will be a carefully measured founding Unicorn Café. The local name, city, operator, property and capital partners remain open; this plan defines what the first 18 months must build and prove.
PROPOSED FORMAT
A complete public café and entrepreneurial clubhouse with 120–180 seats, flexible workspace, meeting rooms, call booths, stage, podcast area, bookshop, product market, address service, mail, storage and a full programme calendar.
FOUNDING CONDITIONS
We should not sign a site until a credible professional operator team, at least 250 prospective founding members, institutional and commercial partners, and a realistic capital and operating plan are in place.
MONTHS 01–04
Choose a candidate city, recruit the operating team, register founding members, map local needs and secure initial partners.
MONTHS 05–08
Select the property, confirm demand, finalise the complete service mix, capital plan, partnerships and operating agreement.
MONTHS 09–13
Complete the spatial design and fit-out, train the full team, build the first programme calendar and pre-sell memberships.
MONTHS 14–18
Operate Café No. 01, measure public use, member retention, service economics and connections, and document the operating model.
SUCCESS GATE
The founding café must demonstrate repeat visits, member retention, coexistence of hospitality, work and programmes, sustainable multi-service revenue, professional operational capability and measurable community value. Only then do we derive the Gazelle and affiliation formats.
